Accelerating Impacts of CGIAR Climate Research for Africa (AICCRA) is a project that helps deliver a climate-smart African future driven by science and innovation in agriculture. It is led by the Alliance of Biodiversity International and CIAT and supported by a grant from the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank.

The overarching strategic areas of collaboration include working together in Southern Africa on climate risks for agriculture, risk reduction and management on key regional agricultural value chains to enhance access to inputs, market, wider-scale adoption, promoting and integrating adaptation interventions, reinforcing and strengthening the capacity of national institutions, support inclusive regional stakeholder engagement, developing inclusive knowledge platforms to promote climate services and climate-smart agriculture interventions to improve productivity and income, including linking research with farmers and strengthen NARES participation in regional agricultural research and design activities to build the resilience of agriculture and transform food systems in Southern Africa. CCARDESA coordinates the implementation in Southern Africa. This partnership fosters linkages with other Southern African Development Community (SADC) units, the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), the African Climate Policy Centre (ACPC), the African Union Commission (AUC), etc., for broader regional and continental level engagements.
