Background
The Governments of the Republic of Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia have expressed interest to develop the proposal for the second phase of APPSA. The main emphasis of the second phase is on Agricultural Transformation which should incorporate issues of technology commercialization, mechanization, value chains and market systems. It is believed that investing in science and technology through research and innovation should be supported with an enabling environment for incubating and growing the ideas, products, and technological innovations if the dream of transforming the sector is to be realized.
